37 | Acts 2:43-47 | Study Guide
Read Acts 2:43–47. What stands out to you initially from this passage? Does this accurately reflect your experience in the Church? If so, how? If not, what has been missing?
1) We see four devotions in Acts 2:43: teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. Which of these four resonates most with you? Which of these four do you need to increase your devotion to?
2) What is most compelling to you about this picture of the early church? How can you grow in making this feature a reality in your own life and in our church?
3) The early Christians practiced radical generosity. How have you seen this play in the Church? What was the response or fruit that came from it?
4) The home became a central location for the early Christians to gather and practice the four devotions mentioned in Acts 2:43. How central is the home in your own growth and discipleship? How is the home different than the physical building where we gather for corporate worship?
5) The early church (at least initially) enjoyed the “favor of all the people” (Acts 2:46). In other words, God was using them to influence the culture around them. How does the culture view the Church today? How can we as Christians have a positive impact on the world around us?
